Hydraulic Low Head Vertical Spiral Fixed Blade Kaplan Turbine Generator 400-1000KW

The design of the vertical Spiral kaplan turbine according to operational data is based on numerical flow simulations for the step-by-step optimisation of the guide vane and runner blade design developed. The spiral and draft tube geometries were made available by the customer and were later modified in order to reach the highest possible top efficiency level.

Additionally, a flow-and-pressure-coefficient efficiency shell has been calculated which enables the conversion and the scaling of the hydraulics for other power plant applications with similar specific speeds. The power plant went to line in 2011, and since then it produces environmentally friendly/green electricity from hydropower.
